A large individual 220 ml pot contains extra-fine Zinс White Colour paint.
The gouache is produced from finely-ground pigment, and binders (including gum arabicus). White gives gouache matteness, allowing the paint to lie evenly on the surface covering it without gaps.
As one of the artists using this Zinc White Gouache said: “…The magic began for me when I began to lighten the colours with the zinc white. The colours paled but did not become chalky, dull or lose their intensity. It was very easy to mix close approximations of the opaquer watercolours – such as cerulean and naples yellow – and I began to see how these could be combined with transparent watercolour without the effect being jarring”.
